If you are planning a winter trip to Myrtle Beach, you may be concerned about a lack of things to do during the colder months. The Grand Strand is renowned for its gorgeous beaches and endless possibilities for summer adventure. But the fun doesn’t stop when winter rolls into town. In fact, there are plenty of can’t-miss holiday activities and experiences unique to Myrtle Beach.

Here is a collection of the best Myrtle Beach has to offer during the holiday season. From winter wonderland-themed events and dazzling light displays to exhilarating Christmas shows, you’ll find a little something for everyone.

Enchanting Christmas Shows and Events

Temperatures around Myrtle Beach never truly dip into the classic chilly conditions you associate with the holidays, and there’s rarely any snow. However, these seasonal winter events are sure to spark the holiday spirit.

Festival of Trees

Over 55 decorated Christmas trees are on display at the Ripley’s Festival of Trees. Each tree is designed and decorated to represent one of the 55 U.S. states and territories. The crown jewel is the 18-foot South Carolina tree adorned in an array of seashells, magnolias, golf balls, and South Carolina collegiate decor. Every inch of the aquarium is draped in holiday decor and sparkle. You and your family will be sure to catch the warm and fuzzies. It’s a must-see sight!

To make your experience more interactive, you can also participate in the scavenger hunt.

Night of a Thousand Candles

Don’t miss the magic of Night of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens. Watch the night sky come alive with the glow of 2,700 hand-lit candles and twinkling lights. Allow yourself to fall under the spell of these festive displays. As you stroll along the garden paths, you’ll hear the soft sound of holiday music playing.

To upgrade your experience, select the Sparkle and Fun package, which includes a glass of wine or hot cider to sip as you explore the gardens. This package also comes with holographic glasses that will make the lights even more dazzling.

The Christmas Show of the South

You’ll experience the joy of Christmas through a night of stirring musical performances at The Christmas Show of the South, a Carolina Opry Christmas Special. Each year, the program and lineup are a little different, but you can always depend on Carolina Opry to hit all the right notes. This Christmas show always delivers talent, showmanship, and joy for the whole family.

Festive Beach-Themed Holiday Events

When you throw a winter event, designing something that feels appropriate for the beach and right for the holidays can be challenging. Luckily, with a pinch of creativity and a little help from a Myrtle Beach corporate event planner, you can easily put together a winter theme to wow your guests.

Sand Is the New Snow

Myrtle Beach may not have snow for Christmas, but it does have sand — and plenty of it! As locals can attest, sand shows up everywhere and sticks around forever. So why fight it? For your next event, make sand the new snow! Decorate the event space with sand elements and incorporate kinetic sand into your centerpieces and tablescapes. You can even work with local vendors to find a sand artist to create a sand snowman or other winter-themed sand sculpture.

Coastal Breeze and Christmas Trees

Deck the halls with nautical-themed ornaments! Use seashells, starfish, and pearl garlands in soft blue and white hues to create the perfect coastal Christmas decor. Arrange beach-themed Christmas trees strategically throughout the room for maximum impact.

Embrace the Winter Spirit in Myrtle Beach

If you think Myrtle Beach is just a summer destination — think again. The Grand Strand is a vibrant and dynamic destination that’s perfect for a holly jolly good time this winter.
